Fast jeder d\u00fcrfte auf dieser viel befahrenen Route schon einmal an dem Bau vorbeigekommen sein. Es geht hier stadtausw\u00e4rts Richtung Putzbrunn und Glonn und stadteinw\u00e4rts Richtung Pfanzeltplatz und Ostbahnhof. Ein Blick in alle g\u00e4ngigen Onlinestadtpl\u00e4ne bringt keine Erkenntnisse, das Geb\u00e4ude ist dort allenfalls mit Hausnummer eingezeichnet, aber nicht weiter beschriftet. Ein alter Neuperlach-Stadtplan von 1974 bringt aber die Erleuchtung. Da steht &#8222;Umspannwerk&#8220;. Ein Blick auf die Geb\u00e4uder\u00fcckseite (Bild 3 und 4) bringt die Best\u00e4tigung, hier sind Teile der elektrischen Einrichtungen zu sehen. Ein Umspannwerk dient der Umwandlung von einer elektrischen Spannungsebene in eine andere. Um Verluste bei der \u00dcbertragung zu reduzieren und geringe Leitungsquerschnitte zu realisieren, wird der Strom \u00fcber gro\u00dfe Entfernungen in eine sehr hohe Spannung hochtransformiert (110.000 Volt) und f\u00fcr den Endverbraucher im Umspannwerk wieder heruntertransformiert. Gewaltige Hochspannungsmasten sind \u00fcbrigens Fehlanzeige, da das M\u00fcnchner Stromnetz weitgehend unterirdisch verl\u00e4uft.
